Toby Wise needs your heart while he waits for his

Donation protected
What a journey in such a short amount of time for Toby Wise. I share because we know the power of prayer and WE need prayers.
On April 22, Toby went in for a simple heart ablation to control his AFIB. We were aware of his mitral valve regurgitation, aka leaky valve, and told we could address this issue later. After the procedure Toby’s heart would not go below 135BPM and this continued until 05/25 even after trying to medicate. On 05/25, he was admitted to the hospital for a cardioversion to shock his heart back into rythym. This was successful, but just 4 days later his heart jumped back up to 135BPM. Again the doctors tried to medicate the issue so we sought out for a 2nd opinion. The new cardiologist ran a quick EKG and took one look at Toby and admitted him into the ER at The Heart Hospital. He was stable thru the evening at 135BPM so they scheduled another cardioversion. They shocked his heart and it seemed to be holding but his blood pressure was really low. I ran home that evening to grab some clothes and received a frantic call from Toby that he was really not feeling well and I needed to hurry back. Upon returning I found the emergency team trying to stabilize Toby because he was crashing. As I write this tears fall down my face because there is no other way to describe his appearance...he looked “lifeless”. I was hysterical and prayed that God give me strength as doctors fed me information and asked for emergency documentation such as a medical power of attorney. The wind was knocked out of me and again I prayed to our healer. They rushed Toby to emergency surgery. Toby underwent surgery with very little anesthesia since his heart wasn’t strong enough to go under. They ran a balloon pump up thru his groin and into his heart; which keeps his heart pumping. They also ran a swan catheter in his neck that runs directly into his heart to monitor his heart rhythm. That next day we had 5 of the brightest doctors walk into his room and introduce themselves as the Heart Failure Program Team at The Heart Hospital. Their somber faces explained that Toby had congenital heart failure and they weren’t really sure why since he was an overall healthy 43 year old. They ran test and after researching they determined his leaky valve was the culprit. For those of you in the medical field you will understand this...his left ventricle ejection fraction was at a mere 15% (normal heart 50%) and his heart chambers were enlarged causing his blood to literally be flowing not in one direction but backwards. The leaky valve is unrepairable and all efforts exhausted as far as repair of his heart. The balloon pump in the groin forced him to be bed ridden and he could only lay flat. The doctors agreed they needed to move the balloon pump to give him the best quality of life while they decided a game plan. On Wednesday, they scheduled surgery and the balloon pump was moved to his left upper chest thru his aorta in his left arm. So he is able to sit up, walk and above all SMILING. We are now preparing for the next steps...a heart transplant. Yes, this is scary even writing. Since being placed on the heart donor list could take months/years for a 6’1” man with type O+ blood type. They have introduced the LVAD device. Although this is not ideal, this will get him home with us and he can return to some normal activities. He will be the official IRON MAN, electric heart and all. Thank God! Before this procedure can be done...Toby must undergo a full body checkup. This is rigorous! We pray that all will go smoothly with testing this week and Toby will receive a LVAD the week of 06/21 and return home by July 5. Then the 24/7/365 wait begins for a donor. We have faith that our God already holds the outcome but we ask for prayers...prayers to keep Toby’s spirits up and continues fighting this grueling fight, prayers for our children that they turn to God during these challenging times, pray for our jobs to continue supporting us until we can return, prayers for strength, prayers and thanks to the amazing outreach of support of my family and friends and no one says it better than my beautiful Nanny “We continue to trust in you in all things pertaining to Toby's heart needs. If a transplanted heart is needed, I pray that it is successful in all ways.I also pray that the donor has accepted You as their Lord and Savior. In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. Mother Francine, Nanny”
I know deep in my heart that God placed me in TOBY’s life for this very trying time. My strength in God and my upbeat personality keeps him smiling even in the darkest and most painful times. I give glory to my God and he strengthens me!
Miracles...I believe in miracles and the miracles I have witnessed this week would literally blow you away. I promise to share his work when this is all said and done. I will continue to testify that My GOD is an amazing God and when I’m in my dark corner uncontrollably crying...he reminds me he is there. One example, I sat crying on the courtyard bench at the hospital after the news and simply said God did we upset you, why? out of nowhere this woman rides up on her bike and parks it right next to me. Remind you I’m crying like... UGLY crying snot and all. Normally you give someone their personal space but no this woman rolls up on her bike and is right next to me practically brushing against me as she messes with her bike. Just then she turns around and places her hand on my back and says “God loves you”. I fell into her arms and sobbed. That’s all she said and she walked away leaving her bike unlocked and next to me. I sat there for 30 minutes and the bike just remained there...never moving. All I can tell you...her timing, her touch and her 3 simple words rushed thru me like electricity. Call it coincidence, but I KNOW my Lord knew I needed his touch and reminder. PUSH ON AMBER! I ran upstairs and there I found my love, Toby, smiling back at me. I prayed over him again and gave thanks to giving me another breath, another day to follow HIS mission.
