Tobacco Road Marathon Fundraiser to Support Jonah’s Recovery
Donation protected
Hello Friends,
I’m excited to share that I will be running the Tobacco Road Half Marathon this year to raise funds for Jonah Rosenthal’s stroke recovery & Tedy’s Team.
My friend Jonah Rosenthal suffered a stroke back in December. He is crushing his rehab & making remarkable progress. Jonah is a scout with the Los Angeles Dodgers. He’s a friend, husband, father, colleague & a pillar of our baseball community. He has been dearly missed by all of us this spring on the scouting trail.
You could imagine how sudden & shocking this was for a healthy young man with no previous medical conditions. The truth is, it can happen to anyone. I have learned timing is critical when it comes to identifying & recovering from a stroke. It’s not always straightforward. During a stroke, blood flow to the brain is interrupted. This interruption prevents the brain from receiving oxygen & nutrients. When it comes to a stroke, the most crucial factor is acting quickly to seek medical attention as every minute delay can lead to significant brain damage. The sooner treatment is initiated, the better chances are for recovery.
To lift some of the burden on Jonah & his family during this difficult time, I ask you to consider contributing to support Jonah’s stroke recovery journey and help raise awareness of the signs & symptoms of stroke.
Where exactly are your contributions going?
- 85% of the funds raised will go directly to Jonah & his family.
- 15% will go to Tedy’s Team - Tedy Bruschi is Boston Sports Legend & 3 time-Super Bowl champion linebacker. He suffered a stroke during his playing career at 31 years old. In a miraculous fashion, he was able to comeback & return to play. The main goal of the foundation is to raise awareness of the signs & symptoms of stroke, and to break the stigma of who can have a stroke. His comeback assistance program assists many survivors with the financial burden following treatment & recovery.
