Let me start at the beginning!

Around 4 weeks ago I stumbled across an advert for kittens. On this advert, was a listing for a little ginger girly who had been born with disabilities. It said "free to good home or will be put down".

My heart dropped.

I immediately contacted the owner and arranged to come and collect her, without knowing the extent of her disabilities or even considering the costs. I just knew I couldn't let this little baby get put down.

Fast forward to today.

She is thriving. She is wonderful. I love her so much.

She has had 2 vet visits now. Has had her vaccinations etc... and during these appointments, 2 separate vets have also looked at her to determine 1. What is wrong with her and 2. What are our next steps.

So far, the vets are fairly convinced she has spina bifida, her spine is so wonky, you can physically see it. She also doesnt use her back legs to their full ability. She hops around, instead of walks and when she does walk, she waddles and drags her back toes. We aren't 100% sure why yet but the vets believe it could be due to how crooked her spine is and there may be trapped/pinch nerves causing her to not be able to used them efficiently.

She is being sedated for x-rays at the end of april and we'll know more then. We have been told to prepare ourselves for the potential need for surgeries as this is the most likely outcome, especially if she does have trapped nerves.

I wanted to avoid asking for financial help but the reality is, I just wont be able to cover her costs by myself and I cant risk depriving her of any care she may need that will affect her way of life.

She is the most wonderful little cat and deserves nothing but the best!

All money raised will be used solely for Toad Beans treatment and if we happen to raise more than we need, anything left over will be donated either to our vets (mk vet group) to hopefully help someone else that needs cost support or to a local charity!
