Hi! My name is Maria and I am a Worcestershire-based harpist and a student of the International Harp Therapy Programme. Some of you might have heard my Progressive Harp arrangements of Prog and rock music, or my work with audiences in care settings, or my intuitive nature-inspired harp improvisations at spiritual retreats. Some of you may have even seen me at the Malvern Rocks festival this year :) I took on learning an instrument late in life (in my early 30s) and have always tried to pour as much energy into my creative journey as I could alongside a busy full-time job and various other commitments. Truth is, music is my true calling, and I feel most alive when I let it flow freely through the strings of my harp out in nature.

For a very long time I've felt another pull on my soul - a pull to connect to a particular place. I first visited the Alps back in 2012 and have felt drawn to the unique energy of the pure high-altitude ridges and valleys ever since. This year I undertook a very special journey up a mountain in Valais (Switzerland) and felt a new piece of work unfolding. I need to write a harp album inspired by and channelled from that place! The soundscape of the Alps with unique echoing and resonance, the wildlife noises and cowbells, the unfolding of the seasons, the moonlit inner lakes, the unbelievable starry sky - all of this started to echo as music soundscape in my head. I finally feel like I'm ready to receive the music and the messages and wrap them up as a unique creative project :)

Now, I am reaching out for help to the community - as to do this properly means taking the time to capture and record the soundscape, hiring a studio to do the final takes - which will cost a lot of money. I am not a professional musician, don't have any support mechanisms and will be doing most of the work myself. Although I'm fairly used to recording my music at home, this is much more of a large-scale project and I really want to get this right!

Any help will be greatly appreciated, and I'll obviously be sharing my progress as I go along :)

Maria
