Hi! I'm a 16 year old student at Foothills Dance Conservatory wanting to continue preparing myself for the field of dance. This is something I want to do in the future, but I need to learn and grow as much as I can now. Last year I attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSAs) summer dance program and it was amazing how much I learned. This year I am hoping to do the same, but I need your help. My family does not have the funds to send me there, but I also don't want to just ask you for money. Please let me do something to help you first and then you can help me. Comment or post on this campaign, send me an email (if you cannot see it on this page, please ask me for it), send me a private message on facebook, or anything else! Whatever I can do, I will! Let me clean your house, keep your kids while you're on a date, wash your car, weed your garden, anything practical! I would also love to add an artistic touch to anything inside the home or out. Just as a heads up, all of the money needs to be in by May 1.
Loving the Arts
I love the field of dance, or any other art, particularly because it is so inspirational. If I can inspire and move people's hearts, I feel like I have accomplished something. This is what I want to do in the future. I want to move people through dance and choreography, words and pictures, music and relationships. And not only is dance a wonderful medium to communicate a message or a feeling, it has the ability to reach into the very soul of a person and connect them with the movement.
More personally, dance is very freeing sometimes for me. There is something very hopeful in it. I love being able to express myself or express my feelings. But also, I love dance because of the relationships. I love being able to connect with teachers, and my fellow students. What is a better way to bond with others than to sweat with them, laugh with them, and cry with them. I'm so thankful for the people I know at FDC and am excited about getting to know people more at UNCSA.
