Hi everyone!
This is Rachel.
Rachel has a rapidly developing eye disease that has greatly impaired her vision and will eventually lead to permanent blindness. As of her most recent doctors visit her vision is 20/80 which makes it illegal for her to drive. Additionally, she has Bull's Eye Maculopathy with cone rod dystrophy AND a retina disorder. Because of this, she has to wear biopic glasses, take 30 hours of classes and 6 hours in a car with a driver to eventually retake her drivers test. This is HEAVY and to put into perspective, my grandma is going through the same thing and she is almost 90 years old. The costs are emotionally, physically and financially taxing but not once have we heard her complain. Rachel is 26, a breath of fresh air and has never met a stranger. She exemplifies joy, embodies the attributes of a Godly woman and is truly the most beautiful soul. She pours her heart into educating, loving and teaching not only her students but her friends as well. She spreads joy relentlessly. Rachel has touched all of our lives, and we want to give back to her. We want to relieve her of the financial burden and stress this disease is causing. She has no idea about this effort and we would greatly appreciate your discretion as we would like to raise money in order to cover the cost of her glasses and driving courses. Our plan is to surprise her with a check of your donations and we would love for you to be apart of her journey!
