Help Save Timothy – Support Our Sanctuary & an elderly Cat Rescuer

Hello kind friends and supporters,

I’m reaching out today to ask for your help with a very special cat named Timothy, and to support the ongoing work of our animal sanctuary.

Last year, a mother cat and her four kittens appeared at the home of my 83-year-old mother, who has spent 15 years rescuing and caring for unwanted, abandoned, and sick/injured cats. Even at her age, she continues to provide a safe haven for over 16 cats – all on her own. It's a huge emotional, financial and physical responsibility, and while her heart is open to every animal in need, she simply doesn’t have the capacity to take in more.

She asked me to step in and take these five newcomers into our sanctuary – and of course, I said yes.

One of those kittens was Timothy – a bright, confident, and loving young boy who quickly became part of the sanctuary family. Recently Timothy became seriously ill. He was diagnosed with a life-threatening autoimmune disease (IMHA), where his body began attacking its own red blood cells. It was sudden, terrifying, and required immediate emergency intervention.

We rushed Timothy to a specialist emergency vet where he received two urgent blood transfusions and intensive care to save his life. The vet bills and medications have already exceeded €3,500, and his treatment is far from over.

Timothy now needs ongoing medication, frequent blood tests, and regular monitoring for at least nine months—potentially for life.

Despite everything, Timothy has remained full of love, trust, and spirit. We couldn't turn our backs on him, and we fought to give him the chance he so clearly wants and deserves.
