To save lives in ICU in honor of my mom & KerryAnn
There are people in this world that will mark you forever with their heart, their kindness, and their selflessness. Kerry-Anne is one of those people. At the beginning of the year, our beloved mother, Marie-Noelle, embarked on an uphill battle against metastatic breast cancer. All throughout the journey, Kerry-Anne did everything for our mother, and this fundraiser is in honor of these two unbelievable human beings.
This campaign's goal is to accumulate as many funds as possible to help make a difference at the intensive care unit at Lakeshore General Hospital, in honour of our guardian angel nurse, Kerry-Anne, who did so much for our mother, Marie-Noelle Issa. She gave us all the necessary tools, spent countless hours with us explaining the ever-changing prognoses, and most importantly, she always reassured us with a detailed and hopeful plan. She went out of her way to keep us informed, to fight for us, to give our mom the best chance possible, to get her all kinds of treatments, and more importantly, to guide us through the most difficult time of our lives. Her flame of hope burnt along with ours, she held on to the hope of a miracle right until the end. Looking back, we cannot imagine having gone through this battle without Kerry-Anne. As the liaison nurse, she makes a difference in thousands of lives. While we went through months of ups and downs, progress and setbacks, hope and trauma, Kerry-Anne navigates those tides every single day, and does it with so much love, passion, and care.
Throughout the last two months, my family and I have experienced first hand what the staff in ICU can do for people. They are truly incredible. And our financial help can make a difference. Our mom received very costly treatments such as dialysis, chemotherapy, targeted therapies, IV injections, blood transfusions, platelets, CT scans, MRIs, ecographies, and so much more. Our help can support ICU in procuring themselves the necessary tools and resources to make patients comfortable, and let me tell you, it can make a world of differences for the patients’ families too.
Our mom was and will always be a real-life hero. For those who’ve had the privilege to know Marie-Noelle, you know just how much of a saint she has been, how she lived every day of her life with love and light, how she put everyone else’s needs before her own.
We want to leave a heritage, a gift to the stellar ICU team who took care of her. Your generosity is needed now more than ever. And while you might not know Kerry-Anne and her team, you can take our word for it, and you can do it for our Mom.
You will be updated throughout the process as we intend to deliver the funds to the foundation in front of cameras.
Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts to Kerry-Anne and the entire ICU team, including Tatiana, Tanya, Eric, and everybody else who help save lives every single day.
