This is my cat Ginge. I have had him since 28th December 2012 and he is 8 years old. Since August 2020 he has been throwing up constantly and losing more and more weight. He has lost more than half his body weight and now only weighs 2.7kg and every bone in his body is visible. I have been taking him to The Pet Vet in Balby since August and they have been absolutely useless and still haven’t diagnosed or helped him. They have referred him 3 separate times to a specialist vet in Derby since January 2021 who kept repeating the same tests as The Pet Vet but have now finally done a biopsy to try and diagnose him. Because it has been dragged out so much the limit of £8000 per condition on my insurance has now been reached and so I have to pay for any further treatment. Ginge has now contracted Sepsis Peritonitis from the biopsy and needs an emergency operation today to save his life. The estimate just for the operation is 3-5k then his intensive care treatment after will be extra. The insurance (who I can’t name as I work for them) won’t cover this as they are classing it as the same condition so I have to try and fund this myself.
