To Reunite a Cat and Her Parent

Hello and good day to everyone who looks upon this story! My name is Emery, and the cat you're seeing is my precious daughter, Lulu.

She was given to me when she was only four months old, during the start of COVID actually! I went through a terrible breakup that had changed my life for the worst at the time. Coupled with how we all suddenly found ourselves unable to leave our homes and our jobs, I was at quite the low point in my life. There were times that I couldn't even go through with the day, and would just listlessly walk through life. That was until I got Lulu, the precious light of my life.

She filled a hole in me that I hadn't realized that I had, and because of that, there was light in my life once again. A light that hadn't been there for what felt like years, and she became the prime reason that I'm alive to this day. That's quite extreme, honestly, but it's the truth. I raised her to be the best little light, and for four of her five years, she was the best thing that had ever happened to me.

But last year, I was suddenly ripped away from Lulu. Last year, I was forced to come to a decision: Be homeless with my cat, or move across the country and leave her in the trusting care of another. Being homeless isn't something I would ever want for myself; especially not for Lulu. Never for Lulu.

I had to make the decision to leave her, as I only had enough money for myself. It was one of the toughest things I had ever done. But I had to do it, for her safety and my own.

Now that I'm here, in my current residence, I'm capable of bringing her here! The only problem is the.. expenses.

As we all know, the air planes and medical fees are quite extensive. And as much as I'd love to do this on my own, I'm incapable of getting the money that is needed for her! That's why I'm hoping that this will work out the way I want it to: I want to gather as much money as I can to make sure that Lulu can be up to date on her necessary shots, and get everything that is medically required to bring her to me!

I miss her so terribly, and there's only so much that I can do on my own, so I hope that many of you are willing to assist me!

For how these funds will be used, I have them based off of a happy middle ground after research in how much things will cost to get her here. Here is the breakdown of the list:

Airplane costs: Lulu herself will be around 150 USD, with an additional 100 USD fee as a one-way carry on.

Health Certificate: For Lulu to even be able to fly to begin with, she needs a Health Certificate, which will tell everyone at the TSA and the airport that she is healthy and nothing is wrong with her. This will cost, in total, 550 USD if she is required to have preliminary tests and exams.

Flight Cost: While Lulu herself won't cost too much as carry-on, the person bringing her will need a roundtrip ticket. Judging the flight expenses at this current moment, I am looking to spend 700 USD on a roundtrip alone.

Passport: The person bringing her will need a passport as well, as TSA won't allow anyone without a Passport or a Real ID to come onto the plane. This will cost 165 USD, and should the passport need to be expedited, that will move it to 220 USD.

Medical Expenses: Lulu will need to be up to date on her shots; meaning her Rabies shots and her FVRCP shots, both which last at least 3 years after taking them. I would like to get her microchipped as well, and with that in mind, I am at least looking at 450 USD to get her shots and the microchip.

While all of this amounts to 2,170 USD, any and all other money will be going towards making sure I have enough food, litter, toys, and various other utilities available for myself and the caretaker she is currently housed with. All of my funding will go towards bringing Lulu here to me; I care for her so deeply, and I hope to have her safe with me once more, as soon as I can.

She is the light of my life, and the brightest star in the cosmos. She is my perfect Small Lady.
