In February of this year, I spent a weekend with fevers and uncontrollable shivers. I went the ER. I have been sick since and it has been determined that I contracted COVID-19. The good news is, I survived!
The bad news is, I survived with lung damage and other health concerns; on top of my HIV accelerated emphysema. I have been on Family Medical Leave from work since April and have burned through all my leave. I finally qualified for Unemployment payments -- and that's when I found out the place I lived had been sold and I had to get out of dodge. I have been in the apartment since October 2014. I have health issues. And I have three dogs. I have been frantically searching for a place to live that meets my needs. Unfortunately, they are few and far between.
I finally broke down and applied for credit to purchase a manufactured home. I was approved provisionally awaiting some paperwork verification. The home is a 2015 home 13 x 66 foot, with a wheelchair ramp and a shed. I will be able to fence in part of it for the dogs.
But, that brings me to the ask. It's going to cost me more than I planned in monthly payments, plus costs to update some parts (removing carpeting and replacing with vinyl flooring). Of course, there is also the cost of moving, getting all my utilities re-established etc. Plus, of course, a fence for the Royal Entourage.
My hope is to get everything done to move by the end of July. I would prefer to up the down payment, which will reduce my monthly payments. Of course, all of this is also contingent on whether the finance company will acknowledge a medical leave and income and all that jazz. So, I am moving forward as though this WILL happen, and as such I am looking to raise the following:
-- $1000 for vinyl flooring
-- $5000 for down payment
-- $1000 for utilities
-- $500 for a fenced area for the royal entourage
This move is NOT something I planned on, particularly not in the midst of a pandemic, in the middle of trying recover from my own infection and complications, being on leave because of the medical issues and recoveries, etc. Because the closing on the rental property I am currently living in relies on the vacancy of my apartment (and another) by Aug. 3, there is a time crunch. I was hoping I would be able to find something else. It didn't happen. So, can you help?
