The opening of medical library in Kinshasa(Congo)

My name is Ronny Kinanga, 30 years old, i'm a medical doctor and resident in Orthopedic Surgery at université libre de Bruxelles (Belgium). I'm congolese, born and grown in Kinshasa. I live in Belgium since 2011. in 2018, i was in Kinshasa (Congo)  for a medical internship in orthopedic surgery. During this Internship, i have seen that there was not many library in Kinshasa and medical students didn't have access to the international medical papers or reviews.  The internet acces is not also available for everyone so it's difficult for them to have the possibility of purchasing medical books on electronic version.  Despite of having Internet acces, they can have book's in library and it's a very well solution for a developing country like Congo.  So. I decided, after many reflexive moments to open a medical library in Kinshasa for giving local student the same knowledge like others medical professional around the world. Even when they will not have the same infrastructure, developed hospital and others last generation medical materials, the Knowledge must be freely available.  In April 2019, i decided to collect and buy books for Kinshasa. I have actually 700 books and i hope to reach 1000 books for this medical library.  The goal is to cover a complete medical cursua from first year medical study to the last year.  I have noticed to medical students in Kinshasa that i want to open this library for them, they are so excited and ask me every-day when the library will be open.  The goal of this fund-raising is to have money for buying books firstly. Secondly to put all books inside containers in boat and send it in Kinshasa (this process is expensive).  And thirdly to get a local and place for this library in Kinshasa. How the money will be use: 1. buying books: the goal of this project is to reach 1000 medical books. i have 700 books and there is many medical speciality that haven't books yet. A new medical book cost between 50-150€ in library. The transport of book's The price of transport will depend on the quantity and weights of books inside boxes. for example, by DHL in plane transport, if i send 50 boxes for 10 Kg ( 50cm length and 35 cm width, and 40 cm Height) it will cost 21.000 € there's many transport company in Belgium: - DHL - GLS - TNT And others 3. The placement : in Kinshasa, the fund's will serve to rent a local a room for the library, to buy chairs and table's (for 100-150 place's), to buy shelf for books, 10 computer's, to buy the electricity and water. I'm convicted that this project is important for medical student in my country and i hope that you will help me to the accomplishment.  Let's us give a medical library to medical student in Kinshasa.
