To my darling beautiful caring sister

Sophie was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020, end of November at the age of 32. She had to deal with chemotherapy, radiotherapy and 10 days later had surgery for a left mastectomy. In 2021, the chemotherapy and radiotherapy continued. Both Grayson aged 6 and Reuben aged 4 found this a challenging time as you can imagine.

Times haven’t always been easy for Sophie, but she has done nothing but show sheer strength and her sense of humour is recognised by everyone around her.

After being not well enough to complete the chemotherapy in January 2021, her medications Tamoxifen continued.

Diagnosis Multi-focal Grade III, largest measuring 20 mm, total tumour size 70 mm, node negative (0/1), ER positive. HER2 negative, invasive ductal carcinoma left breast.

On the 7th March 2023 she was told that she has multiple liver metastasis and right rib metastasis, this is all secondary to her breast cancer. Sophie has been informed that this is now incurable and her time is very limited.

Sophie has had to make the unbearable decision of having the ‘very maybe’ possibility of intense radiotherapy and chemotherapy that could prolong her time with the boys by 12 months. To choosing the 3-6 months of a better quality of life with the boys.

Sophie is a proud women and keen to spend the little money she has left on doing nice things, but I want her time to be special.

Sophie is a dedicated mother to her two boys, with boy their birthdays coming up Grayson’s on the 24th May and Reubens on the 2nd August. Her own birthday 13th August. Those dates fit during that hopeful 6 month period. It is heartbreaking to write that theres a possibility she might not see Reuben to 6 years old, or even her own 35th birthday. That funds hopefully could be used to make his birthday earlier for her, or have his a special one on his day which is what Sophie would want.

My gift to my sister will be ensuring that the next 3 months she has with her beautiful boys will be spend doing all the family things that her prior diagnosis removed from her. I want her to be able to take those boys and go do family things: Paultons Park, Cinema’s, Days at parks with ice creams, see Nordic lights in Scotland.

Her absolute dream is to take them to Disney World (Paris) but we’re unsure a new passport will arrive in time and not sure if she will be well enough to go.

This money is for her to enjoy those family moments that she won’t get again.
I understand financial times are tough but anything will really help and it is to such a great cause. Please, if you can’t donate spread the message around, I will forever be thankful for that.

Her greatest fear is the boys, so any money left over will be going straight to them.

Thank you for reading this, I hope you can support me in giving one last final gift to her and those boys. The final gift to a truly amazing women, friend, daughter, auntie, partner and sister that would be the best possible outcome letting her spend her final and limited days with Grayson, Reuben and all the family.

We love you Sophie, not only are you a rock, you’re our rock!
