Help Elijah with a modified Van and Ramp.

Donation protected
Meet Elijah, a seven-year-old adorable little boy. This is his story. We hope it inspires others to help as we work together to meet our fund-raising goal. Elijah needs an electric wheelchair-lift; this will be life-changing for him and the people that care for him. We want to assure that we give Elijah the most love, best care and accessibility to the community as possible.

At four months, Elijah experienced a traumatic brain injury (TBI). It forever changed his life. This sweet boy now suffers with multiple severe medical conditions; Cortical Vision Impairment, developmental delays, and Cerebral Palsy (CP). The CP has permanently affected his left side body movement and motor function. Elijah depends on medical equipment, his mother, and his caregivers to enjoy the quality of life a little boy deserves.

For his mobility, Elijah relies on a wheelchair. But there is great difficulty when transferred or carried outside of his chair, as well as risks. It is important for Elijah to attend his numerous therapy and doctor appointments, his schooling, and his enjoyment in his community. He continues to progress and break boundaries above what doctors believed possible. But this is dependent on his continued routines. And Elijah’s mother and caregivers are solely responsible for assuring his safe transportation for all his needs.

As Elijah continues to grow, the burdens of transporting him continue to become more challenging and laborsome. Elijah’s mother started fostering him at age 1 and adopted him at age 3. She knew that assistive technology would be required. To ensure that Elijah continues to have access to his community a van modified with an electric ramp is needed. She has been working with a TBI fund to financially assist with the needed lift. The fund has the potential of funding up to $15,000. Unfortunately, that still leaves an additional $20,000 necessary for the required modifications. The modifications needed also require a new van which could be another $40,000. Many states provide funding for modifications such as this. Sadly, the state of Kentucky does not.

All donations will be given directly to Elijah’s mother. All funds will apply to the purchase of the new vehicle and the necessary modifications for the ramp. Additionally, financial advice in lieu of, or in addition to, any monetary support is also appreciated. We are open to meet with anyone who would like to learn more about Elijah’s situation.

We thank everyone for taking the time to meet, donate, and/or read about Elijah. We welcome you to be a part of his life. Please help us give this little angel something that he desperately needs.

Thank you!
