To Improve facilities at Mid Ulster Sanctuary
Do you want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money in aid of Kilcreggan Homes Ltd and every donation will help. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
I have picked Mid Ulster Sanctuary as my chosen charity, and I am challenging myself to the ultimate IBA ride in Ireland - 32 County Towns in less than 32 Hours which is approximately 1200miles. For the Iron Butt Association to recognise a long-distance motorcycling achievement, there needs to be not only a stringent auditing trail but also the ride in itself must pose a test to man and machine! There is no date set as yet, but it is likely to happen in July!
Mid Ulster Sanctuary allows groups of people with a learning disability and/or autism from the Mid Ulster area to look after deer, pigs, geese, chickens/hens, goats, rabbits, guinea pigs, donkey and a pony. Service users spend their day doing food preparation, feeding the animals, animal care, and ground maintenance in a safe and enjoyable working environment. The sanctuary is open five days a week and is resourced by Kilcreggan staff, NHSCT staff and local volunteers. The therapeutic benefits of open space and small animal care have been highlighted by psychological services as positive and important contributors to meeting the needs of those adults with learning difficulties
The money raised is being donated to Mid Ulster Sanctuary. This money will be used to enhance and improve the site, including creating a beautiful aviary to create another therapeutic space on the site. Aviaries offer therapeutic benefits to humans primarily through stress reduction and improved mental well-being. The soothing sounds and visual appeal of birds can create a calming atmosphere, reducing anxiety and promoting relaxation. Furthermore, interactions with birds, even passively watching them, can boost mood and potentially lower blood pressure.
Please donate, your kind gesture is greatly appreciated.
