To Honour Our Michelle: Support for Albert & Matt

Dearest family, friends and community It is with the tenderest of hearts that we share the passing of our beautiful and courageous friend Michelle “Mich” Caley. She left her body still fighting to be with us on 24 June. No one was prepared for her sudden loss and the immense sadness it brings, despite many knowing that Michelle has battled cancer for the last three years. We have all been left heartbroken to mourn the passing of her inimitable soul. Michelle was a fiercely loyal, loving and funny friend. She touched the lives of so many and will be missed terribly. Her impeccable style, community spirit, creativity, unique humour, beautiful red lips, immeasurable grace, generous heart and thoughtfulness never faltered. Michelle’s family have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love, and offers of help from the community, over the last few days. Those close to Michelle are committed to supporting her lifelong partner Matt, and their amazing precious boy Albert, as they embark on the next chapter of their lives without her. A support fund is being established for Matt and Albert to ease immediate financial pressures and to help them navigate the coming weeks, months and years. Generous of spirit, Michelle never asked for anything in return, so we ask on her behalf. If you can and are comfortable doing so, any donation big or small will be deeply appreciated. Your kindness and compassion mean a lot. A beautiful celebration of Michelle was held on Wednesday 5 July for family, friends, and her community in Bondi.  Family and friends in the UK will gather in the coming weeks.
