It is with extreme sadness that we announce the passing of my father, Steve Bateman. Steve had a known sense of humor, a strong desire to ride his beloved motorcycle (he often toured different towns based on their Harley Davidson stores), Sunday night football (Patriots), and the devotion and love he held for his family, his grandsons and daughters, and his wife Lori who was his companion and best friend for over 40 years. He passed peacefully on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. We are raising money to cover the costs of arrangements & memorial services for Steve, as this passing was completely unexpected.

Letter to dad:

I walked into the house today and noticed it was quiet. I did not hear you root for your favorite football team or the jokes that filled the hallway. You were the loudest person in this house but now we find ourselves missing it. It is not the same without you even with your things in the same place. I see your hats, your shirts and shoes but they just look so empty now. I came in time to be as close as I could be, though the time was not long- I just hoped you knew you were not alone. I did not get to hold your hand but I got as close as I could be. We loved you dearly to the end and wished time could go backwards. Your last words to me were you loved us and to that I hold on tight because the feeling of you no longer being here is almost unbearable to grasp.

I hope you are in heaven now riding your bike, free. Watch over us, dad. We love and miss you.
