My journey started at a weight of 422.2lbs, I had to be weighted on a truck scale, and I was slowly killing myself. It was February 2016. I had always wanted to do the Iron man in Kona Hawaii, so I started training for sprint triathlons, a smaller version of the Iron Man . I did my first one June of 2016, and my Second September of that same year. In April of 2017 I had a major set back, having a mild heart attack and I stopped training. May 2018 I decided I couldn't live in fear anymore as my weight was coming back on, and I could feel my health getting worse, so I started training again. July of 2018, I felt a sharp pain on the left side of my chest. Going to the hospital, I was informed that a blood clot had caused the pain, and it caused more damaged to the muscle in my heart. Through out many test, which included nuclear stress test, cat scans, inject-able dyes checking arteries and veins, it was determined that what damaged was done, wasn't bad enough to stop me from doing or training for triathlons, as long as I can stay on the meds, and follow ups with the cardiologist doctor. This fund is set up to help me get through to October of this year, when I will qualify to be on a prescription drug plan during the open enrollment period. I would like to thank all of you that have helped me out during this journey with your love and support. Love your mayor Joe jo...Joseph B. Parr
