Kayleigh is fighting Neuroblastoma cancer for the 2nd time in her short 11 year life, she had been in remission for almost 8 years following her initial Cancer treatment in 2009/2010.
Kayleigh was first diagnosed with stage 4 high risk Neuroblastoma at 22 months old in late March 2009 and underwent 18 months of treatment including Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy, High Dose Chemotherapy, Stem cell Rescue, Steroids and long and enduring hospital visits and stays. Kayleigh's treatment worked and she was doing well other than a few development and skin issues following the treatment.
Then on 22nd June 2018 the family were given the earth shattering news that Kayleigh has a mass on her liver, and tests a few days later showed this to be a Neuroblastoma Relapse and that Kayleigh would need to start Chemotherapy once again to treat the cancer for a 2nd time.
Kayleigh started Chemotherapy within a week of her tumour being found. She was allowed out of hospital on 1st August for a just 2 hours to be a bridesmaid at her Mum and Dad’s wedding, it was a lovely day for her and it really lifted her spirits despite her pain and treatment.
Unfortunately Kayleigh’s Cancer has not responded to the treatment and now the medical team have informed her parents that her cancer is terminal and she only has a few days to live.
As parents we all have these ideas and dreams for our children, what kind of a person will they grow up to be? will they will find love? find their dream job? Celebrate special times with their friends? But for Paul & Lyndsey all these will ever be are Dreams.
I cannot even begin to imagine the pain her Mum, Dad and siblings are going through. So I am setting up this page to help with the costs of Kayleigh’s funeral, which is a cost that no parent should have to think about, and so they won’t have the money worry and can start to heal as a family.
It is with a heavy heart just hours after setting up this page our beautiful warrior fell asleep, we are all sending all our love prayers to Paul & Lyndsey and the children. Know that we love you all and are here for you always.
Love to you all
