Two weeks ago, our assistant manager Glynn suffered a heart attack while at the game vs Milton Utd. In true Glynn fashion, he carried on through the match before going to hospital afterwards—where it was confirmed he had suffered a massive heart attack
After nearly a week in hospital, while waiting for bypass surgery, the unthinkable happened. While on a video call with me, watching his son play for the CÖS senior team, Glynn went into cardiac arrest. The incredible team on Ward 223 worked on him for over 30 minutes before managing to get his pulse back first then got his heart beating again.
A emergency operation was done instantly where four stents were fitted. He was then placed into a medically induced coma to allow his body time to recover. After nearly six days, he was brought around on Thursday—and the signs have been incredibly positive. He’s responding to commands, wiggling his toes, and showing real strength. It’s a huge relief and a testament to the fighter we all know he is.
Glynn is a fighter, and we have every faith he will get through this.
However, while Glynn continues his recovery—likely facing at least another month in hospital—life’s bills don’t stop. Julie and the family are by his side every day, supporting him through this incredibly difficult time.
That’s why we’ve set up this GoFundMe—to help ease the financial burden on the family so they can focus fully on being with Glynn and helping him recover.
Every contribution, no matter how big or small, will make a difference.
You’ve got this Glynn. Keep fighting mate.
Love from everyone at City of Stoke ❤️⚽️
