Corina is the mother of 3 children ages, 11, 9, 6months. Thursday November 5th, we received a call telling us that my sister was being taken into the hospital in Mexico  with severe head injuries, while visiting her husband in Mexico. Due to the fact that she is an American citizen she was transferred to a hospital in San Diego. She had been visiting her husband who lives in Rosarito, Mexico, with her 6month old baby. Friday we were informed by the doctor that Corina had severe head injuries and multiple contusions that had to have occured at different times and a few days before she was admitted to the hospital into their care. The injuries were most likely caused by someone severly beating her. Her recovery is expected to belong term and she has a long road ahead. The injuries she suffered will require long term and extensive therapy. The father is under investigation and on the run in Rosarito, Mexico. He abandoned his 6month old child to the care of strangers and left him with no clothes, formula, and diapers. We were able to recover the baby from Mexico, but due to Corinas current condition the children were left in my care. I already have 4 kids of my own and cannot turn away family so we are asking for help so we can move to a bigger house in order to have a liveable environment for her children as they will be staying with me until my sister is able to recover from this. At this moment it is undetermined how severe the damage to her brain will be or how long recovery will take but doctors say it can be expected to take at least 18 months.
