Hi, my name is Savannah, and I’m Samantha Baillie’s best friend. I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of Sam and her family during the most devastating time of our lives.

On the 27th of December 2025, Sam travelled overseas for the first time ever. It was meant to be a happy milestone her first time leaving the country, after recently starting a new chapter of her life.

Tragically, while overseas, Sam was involved in a serious and lifethreatening accident. They didn’t have travel insurance

Sam is currently in critical condition in hospital in Bali. She has suffered significant injuries throughout her body, including a fractured skull with bleeding on the brain, multiple broken fingers with severe hand injuries, injuries to her pelvis, and extensive injuries to her feet. She is badly injured and facing a long and uncertain recovery.

Sam is a hairdresser, and due to the severity of her injuries particularly to her hands she will not be able to work for a long time. How she will manage day to day once she is home is a major concern.

Tragically, the person Sam was travelling with did not survive the accident. There are children involved on both sides of the families, and at this time many people have not yet been informed. We kindly ask for privacy, respect, and compassion during this incredibly sensitive time.

Sam’s mum and I flew to Bali immediately and arrived yesterday to be by her side. We have already paid $6,000 toward her initial hospital care, and we have now been issued a further medical bill of $52,000, with more costs expected.

We urgently need help to:

• Cover ongoing hospital and medical care in Bali

• Pay the outstanding $52,000 medical bill

• Arrange medical transfer back to Australia so Sam can receive proper care at home

• Support Sam with daily living expenses, rehabilitation, and recovery while she is unable to work

This has only just happened, and the financial burden is overwhelming. I’m asking, from the bottom of my heart, for any help at all — no matter how small.
