Hi, my name is Addison Killen, I am 15 years old, and my dad and I really need help. On January 24th, 2026, my dad’s house caught on fire, and my dad was in the bathroom and had no idea about the fire. The only way he found out was because of my 7-year-old dog. She hit the bathroom door open to alert my dad that there was something wrong. He hurried up and went to see what she was getting him for, and he saw the curtains up in flames. He went to try to put it out with the 2-fire extinguisher we had in the kitchen. The fire was too big, and he couldn't get it out. He went to get my dog to get her out of the house, and he couldn't find her because the smoke from the fire had covered the whole living room with black smoke. He then realized that she had gone upstairs to make sure I was okay. He was looking everywhere for her but could not find her until he heard her trying to come down the stairs, but the smoke from the fire had become too thick for her to seee so she fell down the stairs, and that is when my dad knew she was okay. He went to get the neighbors to call 911 and he got 2 more fire extinguishers and the fire on the first floor was out but made it to the 2nd floor and that was my bedroom and just 30 minutes beforehand I had left to go to my moms and if the fire had started any sooner I might not have made it out of there, but thankfully I was not. When 911 arrived, they wasted no time running in and putting the fire out. After they ended up getting the fire out, they had to cut a hole in the floor of my bedroom and in the room to get the fire and smoke out of the house. We lost everything in the house because of either burning or smoke/water damage. If any of you know or have worked with my dad, you know he would jump to save anyone in a heartbeat. Any little bit will help, but if you can't help financially, please just keep us in your prayers.
