To Help Rob Wofford with End Of Life Expenses

THE BACKSTORY
On September 13, 2018, Rob was rushed to the Emergency Room in Steamboat Springs, CO and immediately flown down to Denver. Shortly after surgery, he was diagnosed with Glioblastoma. Glioblastoma is a very aggressive stage IV brain cancer.  The neurosurgeon in Denver worked hard to remove as much of the tumor as possible, but because Glioblastoma grows into normal brain tissue, all removal of the tumor is not possible.

POST SURGERY
After surgery, Rob is now undergoing chemotherapy and radiation at Shaw Cancer Pavillion in Edwards, Colorado for six consecutive weeks. Following the six weeks of aggressive chemotherapy and radiation, Rob will continue his chemotherapy four days a month.

As most, if not all of you know, Rob is not the type of person to ask others for help, but his family, friends and I want to make sure he has the support and resources he needs to continue his fight for his life. During this crucial and terrifying time of Rob’s life, it is now that we need to join together to help him. Due to the fact that he is at the Shaw Cancer Center Monday through Friday, Rob is not only unable to work , he is also required to supply his own food, and we all know how important it is to feed his body as well as possible so he can fight this horrible disease as long as he can.

Robs bills are piling up, and while his sons, those closest to him, and I are doing the best we can to get him grants and scholarships and deal with the Department of Unemployment, right now we need help. Rob is too stubborn and proud to ask for help, but as someone who loves him tremendously, I am not too proud to ask, to beg even.

The median survival time with Glioblastoma is 15-16 months.

THE COSTS

This has been not only a horrific experience for everyone involved, but also a learning process. It is becoming more and more clear that having Glioblastoma is not only a medical emergency, but a financial crisis as well. “Brain cancer has the highest per-patient INITIAL cost of care for ANY cancer group with an annualized mean net cost of care approaching $150,000.” – blog.braintumor.org

HOW YOU CAN HELP
All funds raised will go to Rob’s daily living expenses, bills and ensuring that he is as comfortable as possible. Rob is a fighter, a warrior and such a strong spirit and is in no way giving up! We ask that along with any donation that you can possibly help with, we ask for you to please keep him in your thoughts and prayers, as we know how important the power of positivity and prayer are.
