Hi, we are Santiago and Alexandra.

At this moment, Santiago is in a process called PRRA. We are doing this funding to pay for a lawyer and stop the deportation that Santi is facing.

(We need to collect the amount that a lawyer charges us to take Santi through the process).

Five years ago, Santi came to Canada seeking protection from the violence in Colombia. His life was at risk and is still at risk if he returns. Santi left his country, Colombia, seven years ago with false hopes of refuge or protection. He first lived in the United States with his father, but things did not go well; he suffered verbal abuse and mistreatment from him, even taking him out of the house when he still did not understand how to apply for protection in the United States. He escaped to a shelter called "Vive la casa" in Buffalo, New York, where he tried to seek safety, but because of his status, they would not help him either in the U.S. or cross into Canada.

Frightened, he took the courage to walk across the border to Canada. Santi has been here in Canada for five years, trying to prove to the government that his life is still in danger and that he could probably be killed if he returns to Colombia. He has been denied many times, yet he has tried everything he can, even leaving his studies to go to work to pay for his proceedings and the hospital bills. Because of the depression and stress that this process cause, his health has deteriorated significantly.

Currently, Santiago is facing unjust deportation due to mistakes of the immigration officers, and he only has this month to pay for a lawyer, plus the documents that need to be attached.

During these five years, four years ago we met and became very good friends, almost best friends, two years ago we decided to start a relationship, and recently we decided to get engaged. Santi's life is here, and he built it through a lot of effort, and work, not only materially but in friendships and our relationship.

We ask all our friends and acquaintances who have shared with me and Alex, who know me as a person. We know my relationship with Alexandra, so please help me by donating and with whatever you can; no matter the amount donated, it would help me a lot.

Estamos haciendo este fundrising con el proposito de pagar un abogado y poder detener la deportacion que Santi se enfreta. En este momento Santiago esta en un proceso llamado PRRA.

( El monto que necesitamos recolectar es la cantidad que un abogado nos cobra para tomar el proceso a Santi )

Hace 5 años Santi llego a Canadá en buscando protección por causa de la violencia en Colombia . Su vida corría riesgo y actualmente sigue corriendo riesgo si regresa. Santi salio de su país, Colombia, hace 7 años con falsas esperanzas de Refugio o protección. Primero vivío en Estadios Unidos con su padre pero las cosas no salieron bien; Sufrío abuso verbal y maltrato por parte de él, incluso lo saco de la casa cuando el aún no entendía como aplicar por protección en Estados Unidos. Escapo a un Refugio llamado "vive la casa" en Buffalo, Nueva York, ahí intento buscar protección pero por causa de su estatus no lo quisieron ayudar ni en Estados Unidos o a cruzar a Canadá.

Asustado decidio tomar el valor de cruzar la frontera caminando para Canadá. Santi lleva 5 años aqui en Canada intentando demostrarle a el gobierno que su vida sigue en peligro y que si regresa a Colombia probablemente pueda ser asesinado. Ha sido negado muchas veces, aun asi intentado todo lo que puede , dejando incluso el estudio por ir a trabajar para pagar sus procesos , y también para pagar las cuentas en el hospital ya que por culpa de la depresión y el estrés que tiene este proceso su salud se a deteriorado mucho.

Actualmente, Santiago esta enfrentando a una deportación injusta, por errores de los oficiales de inmigración y solo tieneo este mes para pagar un abogado, mas los documentos que se necesiten anexar.

Durante estos 5 años, hace 4 nos concimosy nos volvios muy buenos amigos, casi mejores amigos, hace 2 años decidimos empezar una relacion, y hace poco decidimos comprometernos. La vida de Santi esta aca y la construido como mucho esfuerzo, trabajo, no solo en lo material pero en las amistades y en nuestra relacion.
