To help Nora build her house in the Philippines

Hi friends and family! For my birthday this year, I hope to raise as much money as possible for my beautiful friend and former Hong Kong domestic helper, Nora and the small family house she has been building over the years in the Philippines.

Nora lived with us for two years during our time in Hong Kong. As a result, we got to know Nora very well and learned about her family and challenging life in the Philippines.

Nora is one of the most kind, loving, generous, loyal, hard-working, selfless people I know! To provide for her family, she made the tough decision many years ago to find work abroad. She initially spent ten years in one country when her boys were very young, then moved to Hong Kong for another extended period. She is now a Grandmother and only gets to visit her own family once a year (and not even during covid the past two years!)

We were super lucky to have her join our family, but we realise the sacrifice she made helping our family while living away from hers.

Nora continues to work abroad to raise money to pay for her immediate (and extended) family's monthly expenses and bills. She has also been saving up to build her family a small house. She had finally started construction in 2019 but had to stop during the covid pandemic. Nora is very close to completing the house! She needs the equivalent of $3,828.81. USD to complete her home. I would really love to help raise some money for her and speed along the process!
