Hi, My name is Gail. My husband, best friend and soul mate Barry is seriously struggling with an auto immune disease called Fibromyalgia. He has a long list of other illnesses including stage 4 kidney disease and liver disease caused by IGA Nephrophathy. He's had two strokes and a bleed on the brain, he has survived life threatening double lung pnemonia twice, sepsis, steroid induced psychosis three times.... plus the endless chronic side effects many of the life saving drugs caused....he had literally been through hell.... and now , this cruel auto immune disease causes chronic, incurable pain which is destroying his life and crushing him every single day. There is no cure, just pain medication which barely takes the edge off.

He is in too much pain to enjoy our life together. He has gone from being a strong, healthy man to a shadow of his former self. Days slip through his fingers, he is isolated from us as he sleeps to escape the relentless pain. It crushes me watching him struggle and even in the face of it all he sees his glass as still half full.
