To help JC have paid sick leave

Hi, my name is Pia, and I am raising funds for my dearest friend, JC. JC needs some loving. They were due to have surgery in July this year; however, had to postpone their surgery as they did not have the finances to take four weeks off work to recover. For JC to continue to survive financially longer term, their business, Women on the Tools (WOTT) needs to continue…JC does not have the luxury of closing this down for four weeks of sick leave. As you can imagine, their decision to postpone their July surgery was a complex one to make. Hearing and watching their struggle and the emotional toil this took on them was heartbreaking.

JC is facing the same predicament again with their December surgery date. The stress and emotional toil of having to contemplate once again postponing their surgery is having a significant impact on JC’s wellbeing. As my dearest friend, who has supported me through many challenges, I knew I needed to do something more than provide emotional support…I needed to find a way to help them financially.

I turned to GoFundMe and am looking at raising $2000. This would cover the rent on the WOTT workshop space to ensure WOTT keeps ticking along and provide JC with some paid sick leave...something many of us take for granted in our working lives. This money will offer JC peace of mind to rest and recover knowing that their financial security is safe.
