On January 20th 2022 sadly we lost one of the most beautiful people the world has come to known and a dear friend to many. Janeanne Taubel fought a long hard battle until her body could no more at the young age of 48. Janeanne was a daughter, sister, wife and a mom, co-parenting 5 beautiful kids and the most bad ass friend that you probably knew.
Janeanne was a fierce competitor and super athlete. She competed in a variety of sports throughout her life, including rowing while in College (proud OSU Cowboy!) and an avid triathlete (5x Ironman Finisher!) and this is how I came to meet her... through the sport of Triathlon nearly 10 years ago. I trained with her, competed with her and came to watch and cheer her at some of her races. She was a fearless, toughest of competitor and never afraid to tackle any challenge. I did not know Janeanne well on a personal level but I can only imagine she no doubt approached everything in life the way she tackled her training and racing: Nothing never too hard, Never giving up and ALWAYS fighting til the end! AND FIGHTING TIL THE END SHE DID!
Janeanne's early departure no doubt has left a void in her family at MANY levels. This is where anyone reading this page can participate to help fill one of those voids. In total Janeanne style, I will attempt to run a distance unfamiliar to me on Sat Jan 29th. I will set off to run from Lake St Louis to The Gateway Arch in downtown St Louis. A distance of 48 miles (Janeann's age). I will do this run as a tribute to my Tri club teammate and dear friend Janeanne and in the process help in a small way the family she left behind. Julie Bokermann will be the direct beneficiary. Every cent donated to this page will go directly to her to help the family. My family will be donating $48 dollars and I will donate $1 dollar for every mile I complete of Saturday's run and I'm asking for anyone else who would like to join the cause to donate in the manner in which your heart moves you to. It would also be magnificent if some would consider joining me during any part of the run. You could run 4.8 miles or all 48, or any distance in between. I will be posting the route soon in Janeanne's fb page. It will include a stop by Janeanne's and Julie's new home in Kirkwood. Julie will be running with us too for a good part of Saturday's run. Consider joining us.
Friends of Janeanne THAN YOU for reading and wanting to help. Help today by donating towards Janeanne's Family Fund or join our group of runners on Sat. Jan. 29th.
Thank you & God Bless you and yours.
