With a heavy heart, we share the sad news of Rikki passing away on Friday, 10th June. Rikki was an amazing soul that touched the hearts of many with his selfless nature and patience. Rikki was the kindest person that would do anything for anyone, so we are asking you to support his closest friends to give Rikki the send-off he deserves. Please spare as little or as much as you can to help this happen.

 

Rikki first come to us as a service user wanting to turn his life around as so many do.  Rikki began volunteering at our 'Hope for the homeless' shop on Union Street. Rikki touched everyone he met and made so many friends  with his wit, humor and smile.  He desperately needed the help and support that we all gave him and he was no longer on the streets.  Evenings Rikki helped by serving numerous drinks to our homeless in the rear of the shop and old garage that Paul created within the drop in center.  

Rikki was happier than he had been for sometimes feeling useful, belonging, with security and love from literally everyone.  We then moved to the new 'Garage Café' we created across the road.  Rikki lived above and was first to go down and heat the water boiler and prep before opening times and that's after helping out at the 'Cawfee' shop also on union street.

The first lockdown changed everything and we stepped down from the shelter.
Rikki now living with Paul helped in the 'Leadworks' creation now clean from addictions, Plymouth was now his home and he was finally part of our family.  Rikki wanted nothing, he would say when asked "I have more than anything I could ever want, I don't need anything else.  I have a home, family and friends and mostly I have Love".  He was a kind and generous soul.  Rikki was taken far too young.
