*NO PHOTOS* and no names until next of kin is notified

On October 17, 2021, at approximately 8:43am, Santa Rosa CHP officers were dispatched to a crash on the Arata Lane off-ramp from southbound US-101. It was reported a vehicle had hit a tree and an occupant was ejected from the vehicle. Fire personnel first arrived on scene and reported a male subject was deceased. Officers arrived on scene and closed the Arata Lane off-ramp for the duration of the investigation.

Preliminary investigation indicates a solo male driver of a Nissan Maxima was traveling southbound on US-101 and exited at Arata Lane.

The Nissan was traveling at an unsafe speed and the driver lost control on a veering right curve of the off-ramp. The Nissan ran off the roadway and crashed into a tree. The tree was sheared at the base and the Nissan overturned.  The Nissan continued out of control and crashed into another tree. The driver was ejected as the Nissan stopped on its right side. The time of this crash remains under investigation, but it appears the crash occurred sometime in the middle of the night.

Jorgen was a brother to me, we have so many bright and beautiful memories together. The money will be used to help fund a beautiful memorial for Jorgen sarganis.
