Help Cynthia (Shenk) Parr beat stage 4 cancer

Donation protected

*UPDATE*
Cynthia’s cancer is spreading. She had some spinal surgery that removed it off her spine about a month ago, about 2 months ago she had some in her lungs and had them shrunken. A couple weeks ago she had some removed from her lymph nodes and now they have found some in her brain. She is going through new treatments that are very expensive and her family could really use your support during these terrible times.

Cynthia Parr is a Prince George woman with some dire health challenges. She had some severe head pain and abdominal pain for just over a year and after a lot of testing the doctors diagnosed her with a brain aneurysm. If that wasn’t bad enough, they found stage 4 colon cancer that has spread to her liver. She has been seeing Dr’s in Williams Lake on a weekly basis for a few months now because the wait times in Prince George are too long.
Unfortunately her iron levels are dangerously low as well and they have been having a hard time getting them back to normal levels so she has had numerous iron shots and even a couple of platelet transfusions.

With all the travel and her immunotherapy it has left her in a weakened state, and she is unable to return to work. She is in need of a PET scan (similar to CT, but it detects cancer cells better), which is something she will need to travel to Kelowna for. While she is in Kelowna they have arranged for a special surgeon who will remove the aneurysm too.

All of this travel has been extremely hard financially, especially since she is no longer able to work while going through her cancer treatments. Her oncologist recommended being super aggressive with her treatments and to do 5 before the end of April. She has been unable to eat or drink very much, and because of her low iron levels, she has very little energy.  Her friends and family have been trying to keep her in good spirits, and she is determined to fight this battle and win.

Cynthia was born and raised in Vanderhoof, but she has since moved to Prince George to raise a family. She is kind-hearted, caring, loves to laugh, and have fun.
Her passions have been camping, exploring the outdoors and anything to do with horses. She is also a social butterfly and has many loving family and friends.
She is even known to chat up complete strangers, on a fairly regular basis.

Please help in any way you can. Every dollar will help keep her financial stress at bay so that she can put all her energy into fighting the cancer.
This is going to be the battle of a lifetime.
We are all hoping and praying for a miracle.

The donations from this fundraiser will be put towards any medical travel costs incurred as well as helping cover the cost of everyday living.
Any amount donated is greatly appreciated by Cynthia, her family and friends.
