My name is Desarea and I am setting up this gofundme for a dear friend of mine who is a sister to me going on 18 years, Claudia Avalos. Claudia is 34, and is an amazing single mother of 2 beautiful babies! Kendra and Mateo, and they are her world. Currently, Claudia is fighting for her health and life in the ICU and for 6 years has been suffering with no answers other than she wasn't sick enough. (I'm sorry, if they have a pump going straight to your heart pumping meds every few mintues to keep you alive isn't sick enough, Idk what is.)

On August of 2018, just 8 months after her second child was born, Claudia was diagnosed with Pulmonary arterial hypertension which has now caused severe damage to her heart, lungs, and liver. Claudia has been fighting this illness which has no cure and continues damaging her vital organs from the medication she is taking to keep her alive. It's now been 6 years and nothing has been done due to insurance and the lack of action from prior physicians, and only giving her medication to help with the symptoms, nothing long term such as putting her on the transplant list. The severity of her illness has put her in and out of the ER more times than can be counted and the amount of love and devotion from her mother, Blanca. Blanca has been caring for Claudia through everything, and doing whatever it takes to keep her daughter alive including taking care of her grandchildren. That is truly a testament of what it means to be a mother. Claudia has been incredibly thankful for God and his angels for being there with her through all this and sending an amazing Doctor who has made it her mission to help Claudia. This wonderful angels name is Dr. Leitch, and she had sent a referral to Cedars-sinai in Los Angeles California for a Lung transplant. On Feb 13th, Claudia received a call from Cedars and she will be needing to move to California where they received their referral and are ready to move forward with medical treatment and with their faith in the Lord, he will guide them to a life changing surgery.

Right now I am at your mercy, begging you to please help us raise funds so this beautiful mother, daughter, sister and aunt can get to California for surgery and long term treatment. We need to raise funds to support cost for transportation from Nevada to Los Angeles, the cost of living and basic necessities. Let's please help this beautiful mother fight to be around for her babies and watch them grow and be there for the important milestones of their lives.
