Dear Friends,
I, Caroline Shiny, a mother of two, from India, diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis and thereafter becomes a pancreatic diabetic for the past 18 years. Since then I am completely insulin dependent and recently for the past 5 years I depend on pancreas enzhymes too because both the endocrine and exocrine functions of my pancreas is not working sufficiently. So I am under the treatment of insulin therapy ie injecting insulin for 5 times a day from morning till bed time. Being in a chronic condition for these 18 years, I faced several other complications like hysterectomy surgery, early symptoms of diabetic retinopathy, lipoma surgery and my diabetes becomes brittle too. Brittle diabetes is a condition where people have severe swings in blood glucose ( blood sugar ) and it is especially difficult to manage and often disrupts everyday life.
So, recently, as per my doctors instruction I monitored my blood glucose level 24/7 for 14 days using CGM ( Continuous Glucose Monitoring ) machine. After seeing the report, my blood sugars are heavily fluctuated and there are so many hypoglycemias ( lower blood sugars ) especially during the night times when I was asleep which I do not come to know at that time. So my doctor advised me to go for insulin pump therapy which will prevent brain damage ( due to frequent lower blood sugars ) in the future circumstances. An Insulin pump is a small device that delivers continuous and customized doses of rapid – acting insulin 24 hours a day to match our body’s needs. So when switching to insulin pump therapy I can experience many positive changes in my life like fewer injections, more stable blood sugar, accurate insulin delivery etc. The initial cost to buy this pump will be around 6 to 7 lakhs ( quotation is enclosed ).
I originate from an ordinary middle class family and I also work in an public sector bank. The initial cost for this pump is not affordable to me or my family. But I am in a needy situation.
With lots of hope, I am writing this fund raising letter to seek financial support from you. I would be thankful if you would contribute for this initial cost to buy the insulin pump and help me to get a new transformed life.
Thanking in anticipation,
Sincerely,
Caroline Shiny
