To help buy an Actiontrack Chair
Donation protected
Hello my name is Kelly, I have never done something like this before. I am starting this to help get my son Logan an Actiontrack Chair. Logan was born with Spina Bifida, hydrocephalus, club feet, hip dysplasia, and has had eight surgeries so far. Logan is in a wheelchair full time now but he used to walk with a walker and braces for his lower legs. Even though Logan has gone through all of that he is a happy and caring young man. He just graduated high school and is getting ready to start the next chapter in his life. He is looking to become a veterinarian technician and eventually become a veterinarian. He loves doing outside activities with his dad like playing softball, fishing and hunting but his current wheelchair makes it difficult for him to do it himself at times. We used to just carry him and his chair through the tough terrain but now he is too big to do that. His dad found out about the Actiontrack chairs and how they give the user more independence. His dad Justin is a retired military veteran who is considered 100 percent disabled by the Veterans Affairs. We moved to Florida to be closer to our families. Places in Florida we go to and our hunting property in Alabama make it difficult for Logan to maneuver around by himself due to the terrain. With the Actiontrack chair Logan would have more independence maneuvering around for all of the outdoor activities that he does. We have tried different types of manual wheelchairs and electric wheelchairs over the years but they get stuck or tip forward on him. Justin and I have always tried to push Logan to be as independent as possible. We would love to buy him this chair to help with achieve that. The chair will not only help Logan maneuver around but it turns into a stander. Logan has trouble and pain while standing because of the hip dysplasia. He hasn’t really stood longer than a few minutes since he was in middle school. We are hoping to get the chair as soon as possible and we would be extremely grateful for any help we can get.
