Climbing Kilimanjaro for Ukraine

My name is Tania. Me and my son Daniel will be climbing Kilimanjaro on 17-22 December 2024. This has been my dream since I first travelled to Tanzania in 2008 and I saw the enormous beauty with the white hat on top.

Since then I have been planning to do it for one of UK children charity. But our lives were turned upside down when in February 2022 russia brutally invaded Ukraine. Now I feel my obligation as a Ukrainian is to raise money for Ukraine.

Russian missiles and drones continue to kill Ukrainian civilians daily, destroying lives of many families. I believe raising money for a particular family makes a big difference. So we will be raising money to help one family I know personally.

Olya and Vasiliy Balyura from Irpin (20km from Kyiv), whose house was hit by russian missile last summer, desperately need help to rebuild their home so they can carry on with their lives.

Our target is £3,500. This amount would be enough to install new windows and to buy building materials for the construction works to begin.

Their grandson Pavel is defending Ukraine since first days of the war. He joined Kyiv's territorial defence since the first days of the invasion. Now he is defending Ukrainian soil with the Assult brigade Lut' of National Police formation in Toretsk region. We are all praying for their safe return.
