Hi my names Madison-jade Kercher I’m trying to do a fundraiser for my nan that was one of the people that sadly lost her life at the Crystal creek drowning

its hard enough for me to write this or even talk about the story just feels like iv woken from a bad dream

on the 22nd of January 2026 my nan and her partner where heading down to there local swimming hole for a dip when that soon later turned into a tragedy her partner was taking a swim when she noticed he didn’t resurface

then my nan jumping in to save him and then she was also sucked under the water. The day after my birthday this is the last thing I thought I would ever have to hear I just feel this isn’t real I feel it’s just a bad dream !

My nan was my rock she has raised me since I was 6 years old and done an amazing job she made me the women I am today I’m absolutely heartbroken I never in a million years thought I would lose my nan this way especially after her beating her breast cancer journey end of 2025 ! She loved her kids and grandkids like no other we were always her first priority and for that I’ll never forget ! The way she lost her life I’ll never forget she was trying to save another life and lost her own doing so for that she’s a bloody hero that should show you what sort of person she was just a kind hearted lady that touched the souls of millions I know she will forever be beside me she’s now my angel I’m trying to give her the send off she truly deserves
