To get my car fixed and back so I can work

Hi I'm Tina Malatesta. I work fulltime as a professional health and fitness professional at Mainline Health and Fitness in Glen Mills, PA. I am also a mom to 3 teenagers, Grace, Emma, and Mj 16 15 and 13.5.

In the past 6 years we have been through a lot. I know a lot of people have. But our story started in Sept 2017 when we lost our house to Wells Fargo. We were evicted in 24 hours. We had tried using the states assistance program with the mortgage help but somehow we didn't fit the right mold I guess to get the help

Wells Fargo manipulated us, the system and took our house.

That moment everything changed. I became homeless while the kids moved in with their dad and his parents. I was not allowed to go cause of family issues. I slept on people's couches and at one point lived in my car for two months. Just so I could be close to the kids.

I worked the entire time first at a deli then getting the job I have now. The pandemic hit and I was an essential worker. I worked through it all and making sure my kids were safe and happy.

I have fought so hard to now I am proud to say I at least have a place to live just renting a room. But I have paid my bills and been on time for everything.

This past Monday my engine died. I didn't want to just find another high mileage car that would die in a year that was just wasting more money. I had been lied to so many times for people I trusted with my car. And I always ended up in the same spot.

So I called my new mechanic and said get me an engine. I appreciated his honesty and determination to get me a good engine. He got me one. Told me it would be 4800. I thought I would be able to get enough cash by selling heirloom jewelry and from my job. He had also said he would work with me. So I thought he was telling the truth.

Well he just called me and told me that now the car was gonna be 5800. And he couldn't work with me.

I need my car for work. To get my kids back. To be a family again I absolutely hate doing this. But someone suggested it so might as well try.
