TO GET GUARDIANSHIP OF MY PARENTS

Hi, my name is Alexander Jacque Jr. I am the only child of Alexander Jacque Sr. and Dorothy Jean Jacque. My parents have always been very supportive of their families and friends whether its weddings, graduations, retirements or funerals, they were always there to provide moral, physical and financial support as needed. My mom is a Christian woman that enjoys working in the church, ministering to people in whatever way she could. After working many years, they both are retired professional and had planned to enjoy life by traveling and spending time with family. Unfortunately, their life plans have changed because my mom started experiencing signs of severe dementia and paranoia. Because my dad loves my mom, he would do anything to make her happy therefore he overlooked these things. My mom was sometime depressed and cursed us and other people for no reason. My mom called the police many times against my dad and sometimes she thought one of her neighbors was trying to hurt her. Through the years she has had many falls, one in which she fell off a bus and hit her head very hard and did not seek medical attention. Once she accused my dad of pushing and punching her and he wasn't around when this was supposed to have happened. On one occasion as he tried to catch her because she was falling, she fell and hit the floor very hard. Other days she can be the sweetest and happiest person you ever met and always has a good sense of humor. After 56 years of marriage, my mom filed for divorce for no apparent reason. When my dad received the divorce letter this caused him to have a nervous breakdown as he never thought this would happen. He hasn't been the same, he stopped taking medications and eating. He has lost a lot of weight. My dad loves my mom and will do anything to make her happy. We were trying to tell my mom that she needs to get help or see a specialist. My mom refuses any services as she thinks nothing is wrong with her. She even told the doctor not to give us any information about her medical conditions because of the HIPPA law. I love my parents; this is why I am seeking guardianship on both of them. My dad recently passed out and fell in the bathtub and he almost died. I prayed and spoke in the name of Jesus, and I told dad to hang in there as I was dialing 911 then he came back alive. He had a large blood clot in both lungs and the doctors had to do immediate surgery on him. The surgery went well, and the doctors told me and dad that he was blessed to be alive. Right now, he is in assisted living and rehab, he can't walk, move or talk. It may take a long time for him to recover, and I need to take care of his finances, bills and property as he is not able to do these things himself. Also, I am seeking guardianship of my mom so the divorce proceedings can be stopped as they both can't make wise decisions and to get my mom special help before it's too late.
