Hi, my name is Paula, sadly my mobility is worsening and I now need to use a mobility scooter to aid my independence and give me quality of life.

I had one a few years ago called Mayhem however the motor blew up and I couldn’t afford to replace it which devastated me.

I cannot get support from NHS wheelchair services as criteria is very tight and with cuts to services like this difficult to obtain. and I’ve been told by my GP and rhuematologist the only option Is to fundraise for one

I’m fighting the NHS to get total knee replacements and have been told I’m too young. I’m reliant on six monthly steroid injections to ease the pain and stiffness but it’s impacting on my quality of life and I’m having to cancel activities and seeing family and friends as the increasing issues with my mobility is causing frequent fatigue and it’s causing my mental distress to worsen.

I just want to stay independent and have quality of life and do the things that support me to keep going.

i hate to ask for support as times are so hard for everyone. I agonised over doing this.

Any support to help keep my independence and quality of life would mean so very much to me.
