To Fly a Kite is a raw and tender, coming-of-age drama about the power of connection.
At it's core it's a simple story about empathy and understanding told through a rarely seen perspective, one that challenges us to reimagine communication.
The Film:
An angry and frustrated 12-year-old struggles to adjust after moving in with her estranged father, until a friendship with a kind-hearted, non-verbal boy and a broken kite teach her the power of connection, acceptance, and how to fly again.
The Inspiration:
"The film was inspired by my non-verbal brother Remi and his magical understanding of the world and people around us. He reminded me that sometimes the most important things in life are felt not spoken." - Brie Bartleet (Writer/Director)
