Hi, I’m Ben, a rower, student, and someone chasing a lifelong dream.

I picked up an oar for the first time at the University of York with no rowing experience. Four years later, thanks to incredible teammates and coaches, I’ve gone on to win multiple British University Rowing Championship titles and the Temple Challenge Cup at Henley Royal Regatta with Oxford Brookes University. While studying for an MSc in Planning, I was also honoured to represent Great Britain at the Netz Cup.

After a strong set of trial results in 2025, I’ve been selected to race for GB in the Men’s 8+ at the FISU World University Games.

This level of rowing isn’t funded. Balancing full-time training with part-time work and postgraduate study makes it extremely difficult to cover the costs alone.

This means more than just a race. After losing my sister two years ago, rowing became my way back, my teammates, coaches, and the sport helped rebuild me. This journey is one she always supports, and it’s a promise I made to keep going.

This race is a vital step towards my ultimate goal: representing GB at the Olympic Games.
