Help Me Build a Safe Haven for Surrendered Guinea Pigs
Hi, I’m Serita. I’m 16, homeschooled, and I live on a farm where animals are family. What started in 2022 as "just a couple of guinea pigs" has grown into Pigs On Petals. To date, I’ve cared for and rehomed around 200 piggies, spending my days and nights ensuring every one of them thrives.
The Mission
As I’ve grown, I’ve seen the harder side of pet ownership. From financial struggles to moving house, many owners face the heartbreaking reality of needing to surrender their pets. Sadly, rescue centers can be judgmental, and safe spaces for guinea pigs are rare.
I want to expand Pigs On Petals to create a judgment-free safe haven specifically for surrendered guinea pigs.
What We Need
Right now, space is my biggest hurdle. To provide the care these animals deserve, I need to build and kit out a dedicated facility including:
- A new, fully insulated and weatherproofed shed.
- Secure hutches and spacious enclosures.
- Quality bedding, feeding stations, and storage.
- Enrichment toys to keep them happy and stimulated.
Why Support Us?
At 16, I don’t have big investors—just passion and hard work. We do not make a profit from surrendered animals. Any small fee or donation we receive when rehoming a surrendered piggy goes 100% back into their food, housing, and the care of the next animal in need.
Every penny I earn from my own breeding and boarding is also plowed right back into the animals, but I can’t fund this expansion alone. Your donations provide a clean, safe environment where surrendered piggies can "land softly" while they wait for their forever homes.
Even the smallest animals deserve the biggest care. Whether you donate, share, or visit our website, you are helping a young girl turn a love for animals into a lifeline for those in need.
