'To Be A Woman' Short Film
Donation protected
I'm Evie, a female director, writer and actor from East London with the goal to create positive change within society and raise awareness around social issues through film.
'To Be A Woman' is a short film that I have written which explores the emotional and psychological complexities that women who struggle with reproductive health issues face - and I'm raising £5,000 so that 'To Be A Woman' is able to be made, raising the awareness that the topic deserves.
I wrote 'To Be A Woman' in frustration, loneliness and sadness towards my own reproductive health issues. Wanting the film to be a collective voice, not just my own experience, I launched a questionnaire receiving other female's experiences. The individual responses made me realise even more how dominant this topic is within women's lives, however, we aren't socially aware of it. I really believe that in raising awareness towards the emotional and psychological complexities of female reproductive health issues, we can help women to feel less alone in their issues, form healthy conversations and compassionate understanding.
I can make a promise that this film is a voice, it’s a voice I still struggle to speak in my everyday life and one that I know many other women struggle with too. I promise 'To Be A Woman' is here to help, not only women who experience these issues but people who do not, people on the opposite end who are trying to understand.
It’s not an easy ride, but I’m working hard to create positive change.
Making a film independently can one minute make total sense with everything going to plan, but sometimes you have to take a few steps back, recalibrate and rejig so it can be the best it can be. That’s what I’m doing now, making a choice and asking for collective help so ‘To Be A Woman’ can reach its potential and help people.
The funds will be used for the production of 'To Be A Woman'. I personally won't be taking any profits or payments from the money raised.
Any donations will be sincerely appreciated!!
Thank you & much love,
Evie x
