You never think "IT'S " going to happen to you...Until it does.

My husband had a heart attack in May of 2022. The First time my husband nearly died, happened when the Cardiologist the hospital referred him to, whose name shall be left on this paper. Said due to the severity of blockage, 100% on one side and 80% of my husband's heart... That cardiologist REFUSED to do the surgery because of the percentage of death rate. Wwwhat!? Being his wife, I said the percentage of your fear because my husband will die without the surgery.

We went home, and I began to research everything I could about this needed procedure. Gratefully, my research brought me to find a Cardiologist by the name of Dr. M. Niranjan Reddy MD.

He was the only one in the entire Miami Valley capable and willing to attempt to save my husband's life.

After two surgeries, Dr. Reddy placed three stents into my husband's heart. A little over a week in intensive care.

James and I were beyond grateful and thought that after the period of recovery, he would be able to return to his career of a maintenance technician at a very prominent apartment complex.

Just when we thought things were good or at least more positive.

My husband was laid off and...

We lost our medical insurance. We went from a stable two income family, to becoming extraordinarily overwhelmed, scared and depressed. A few weeks passed, then suddenly, my husband began developing the most severe headaches known to him. He kept avoiding returning to the hospital due to not having insurance. He had no choice but to keep a scheduled appointment with his Cardiologist for a follow-up. Dr. Reddy completed an MRI in his office as I guess sometimes those type headaches can be caused by something directly related to the heart.

Dr. Reddy sent my husband to get a CAT scan. Within about 15 minutes, the doctor called and said, "Get to the ER immediately, you have a severe brain bleed".

This was the 2nd time my husband nearly died. His cranium was completely full of blood on the right side of his head.

Emergency surgery had to be completed.

Another specialist, another savior, named Dr. Neil Patel. A Neurologist, was assigned to the case.

Two proceedures had to be completed.

Those procedures were brutal!

First, to coderize the bleed, the second is known as "Burr Hole Surgery".

They drilled two holes on the side of his head to release the Subdural Hemetoma (Blood). And placed a smaller tube in the back of his head to allow the remaining blood to continue to drain.

Weeks in intensive care. All the specialists said had he not gotten to the hospital when he did, he would have died within 1-3 days.

While in the hospital , a Social Worker helped us to apply for Medicaid and Food stamps. We are still awaiting Job and Family Services decision. I became exhausted while maintaining my employment as my husband struggled to recooperate.

Then slam number three hit us. Three times my husband nearly died.

After being home from the hospital for not even a week. My husband began to have great difficulty trying to breathe. He was having deep sharp intense pain in his back and right side. Another trip to Kettering hospitals ER.

They diagnosed my husband with "Bilateral Pulmonary Embolism and Acute Respiratory Failure". They said he had so many blood clots in both of his lungs, there were too many to count. If that wasn't enough, he developed pneumonia.

Another few weeks in intensive care.

Gratefully, he is alive but will have months of recovery.

We await medical coverage and have applied for Long Term Disability as well. This is leaving me, his wife, to be the bearer of all of our bills.

You know, rent, car payments, car insurance, utilities, food as well as continual medical care.
