Support for the Winacott Family!

Donation protected

Just so everyone knows, GoFundMe requires us to tell you this. My name is Carissa Oswald, and I am a close friend of Cheyenne and Jason Winacott, and have been for many years.  I live in Holden, AB, and met them when they lived here many years ago and Cheyenne was a caregiver for my son. Funds will go directly to Cheyenne and Jason's bank account, and will be used by them as they require for whatever necessities Cheyenne and the girls require.

On April 4th, 2016 everyone in the Winacott family had their lives forever changed.  While at work that morning for CN, Jason was crossing at a private train crossing on a blind corner.  He was hit by a freight train on the back passenger side of his work truck.  It was a miracle he survived the collision!

Jason held on and kept breathing until EMS arrived, but was unconscious, and intubated to help stabilize him for transport.  He was airlifted immediately to Edmonton over 3 hours from their home, where he has remained in a coma ever since in critical, but stable condition.

His injuries are very severe, and at this time, his level of future recovery is in the hands of the Lord.  He has suffered a brain shear injury, a brain bleed, and bleeding into the brain stem.  He has underwent Xrays, CT, EEG and a MRI, and at this time, the Specialists best speculation is that he will be in a coma for about a month, with approximately another year of rehabilitation and healing afterwards.  There really is no way to tell right now.

Cheyenne, as well as their daughters Abigail and Hailey have been by his side ever since that day.  Understanably this has been absolutely horrific and devestating for them, yet their faith in God and his healing abilities keep them strong.

To know this family really is to love them!  Jason  and Cheyenne are extremely active in their church in Hinton, and as well, as volunteers with Habitat for Humanity.  They are Beachbody coaches, and truly live life as Servant Leaders with a strong desire to help  everyone they meet!  They are humble, kind, honest and caring people!

CN has put them up in a hotel in Edmonton close to the hospital so they can be near to him, and has been kind enough to cover meals at the restaurant there for them, but as we all know, there is only so long a person can eat at a restaurant for.

Through this all, Cheyenne has been unable to work.  With such a long road of recovery ahead of Jason, there is a lot of uncertainty for the family!!  Their home is 3 hours away from the hospital, so returning home while he is in hospital is not a realistic option for them.

I would love Cheyenne and the girls to be able to have a financial cushion to help them with any expenses any of them may require now, or in the future.  How this money will be used is soley up to Cheyenne to help make her life, and the lives of their girls easier in any way possible!

Jason has touched thousands of people with his kindness, as well as his loving spirit, and warm smile!!  The prayers received have been appreciated, and as Cheyenne keeps saying, Jason is our Miracle Man!  (If you have not seen this short movie, Google "Morris Goodman - The Miracle Man."  Jason and her had watched "The Secret" dozens of times in the last two months, and it's like it was preparing them for the events to come.  We know he is going to wake up to his three beautiful women, and his family that love him very much!

Thank you so much for any, and all support, be it through prayers, or financially.  It really does mean the world to them!!
