“BOOM!” Help Lance Beat His Cancer

Introduction

Hello. Lance here. For those learning about me for the first time, my name is Lance Colby Hatch and I am an interior designer living in Fort Lauderdale and working around the world. A son, a brother, an uncle, a nephew and a friend, I am also now a cancer patient.

Diagnosis

Specifically, I learned in April that I have prostate cancer. Fortunately, contained to my prostate, the cancer appears to have not yet metastasized to any other area of my body. This, of course, is great news.

The Right Treatment

After seeing multiple specialists and discussing several treatment options, the best one for me is called HIFU. An acronym for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound, it is a minimally invasive outpatient procedure originating in Europe 17 years ago and performed in Canada as well as the United States. Approved by the Food and Drug Administration three years ago, U.S. health insurers do not yet cover the procedure.

The Realization

So, presented with the best solution for my condition, I sat in the urologist’s office and said aloud: “Well, if it’s just $15,000 for the procedure. I’ll find the money.” Though proud and self-sufficient, I have also learned when it’s time to ask for help. Though in the past, I have had the financial means to pay for the procedure outright, the nature and timing of my cancer diagnosis now won’t wait for a similar period of financial prosperity. That’s where you come in.

In order to raise the $16,500 to cover the procedure and associated administrative costs, I need your help. To date – before even launching the official campaign – $1,500 has already been donated by two great clients who’ve become equally great friends. I am grateful . . .
