Homeless in Kentucky
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Elizabeth. Many of you may know me from other benefits I've held to help others. Sadly this time it's me who needs your help. 1 year ago I suffered from carbon monoxide poisoning inside my apartment and nearly died. The hospital contacted the health department, who contacted my landlord. In response, my landlord threw me out. Having nowhere to go and not enough money to move I ended up homeless, alone and with nowhere to go at age 64. In the past 11 months I've walked the streets, had food poisoning, been beaten up, had my glasses broken, had 2 broken ribs, a slipped disc and a cracked arm bone, a long with numerous death threats. I've slept in shelters, tents and a parking garage. I've lost 50 pounds and spent every day walking and trying to survive. I've never been a drug addict, abused alcohol, or committed a felony. My only crime has been poverty, but have always managed to pay my bills and take care of myself. So it is with great sadness and defeat that I ask you for help. I recently found a job (will be 65 soon) and start tomorrow but I need a home. Anything is much appreciated! Thank you with all my ❤️.
