TNR Columbia Cats
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Christina and I am raising funds to be able to TNR (Trap/Neuter/Return) various kitties in my neighborhood.
I started trapping this year on the May 16th and I have caught 104 kitties as of August 4th. This fundraiser would help me be able to get more surgeries done through the spay and neuter project. They charge $40/cat for community/feral kitties. I am only one person and there are SO many kitties that need to be fixed. I also utilize the CMHS TNR program but they have a limit to how many can be brought in a day as well. So if I could raise funds to also use the Spay and Neuter Project that would keep the kitties from having to stay in cages or waiting for their turn to get fixed.
Funds would also be used for gas, to give antibiotic shots to any that were injured which is another $20, spaying pregnant females which is $10 extra/cat, hernia repair $20/cat, etc at the S&N Project. So any help is truly and greatly appreciated!
Some basic TNR Info:
Cats are an invasive species and do a number on our local wildlife. TNR helps control the feral cat population. I know that a lot of people would love to see all these cats go into foster homes and be adopted out instead but in reality there are just TOO many. They are feral or unsocialized, they are hard to tame, they can be very messy and can bite/scratch and even cause injury to themselves out of fear. Due to the vast amount of feral/community cats and the lacking number of foster homes (especially ones equipped to deal with these special kinds of kitties), the best thing we can do to help them is get them fixed, vaccinated and returned to their area where they likely have a community member feeding them somewhere. The more we can TNR, the less that have to live outdoors in the future as we are preventing more kittens from being born! Plus that is less kitties hunting down our local birds and other wildlife as well.
If you have any questions or want to get into TNR yourself, I am also willing to help answer any questions you may have!
If you are able, please donate to my cause. Or comment and share so more people can see this! I would appreciate it soooo much. Thank you from me and all the feral cats that will benefit from this <3 I also have an Amazon wish-list that has various types of food/bait and other things I could use to help me in the adventure if you would like to contribute to that as well!
