Help Gio Heal: Support His Recovery Journey

On Saturday, our beloved brother Giovany was in a serious cycling accident. While doing what he loves—riding his bike—his bicycle malfunctioned, causing him to crash into a parked police car. He took the full impact to his head and face and is now in the ICU at West Kendall HCA facing a long and difficult road to recovery.

Gio is a man of deep integrity, love, joy, and infectious energy. He’s always active, always challenging himself, and always uplifting those around him.

He suffered severe head trauma, including a fractured skull and a large laceration to the side of his head. His bottom lip split in half, and he lost two of his bottom teeth. The force of the impact could have taken his life, but by God’s grace, he is still with us.

He underwent three surgeries during an intensive 8-hour procedure, and he remains in a critical stage of recovery. Doctors say he won’t be able to eat solid food for six weeks and will need time off work. He’ll also need plastic surgery down the line, but we know Gio will face this process with strength and grace.

He’s been incredibly resilient so far, and now, as a family, we are asking for your help. Any support—prayers, donations, or simply sharing this message—means the world to us and to Gio as we try to ease the financial burden of his recovery.

Este pasado sábado, nuestro querido hermano Giovany sufrió un grave accidente mientras hacía lo que más ama: montar en bicicleta. Su bicicleta tuvo una falla y chocó contra un carro de policía estacionado, recibiendo todo el impacto en su cara y cabeza. Actualmente está en la UCI en West Kendall HCA y enfrenta un largo camino de recuperación.

Gio es un hombre lleno de integridad, amor, alegría y una energía contagiosa. Siempre está activo, asumiendo nuevos retos y elevando a quienes lo rodean.

Sufrió un trauma severo en la cabeza, incluyendo una fractura de cráneo y una gran herida en el costado de su cabeza. Su labio inferior se partió en dos y perdió dos dientes inferiores. El accidente fue tan fuerte que pudo haberle costado la vida, pero Dios tuvo otros planes.

Fue sometido a tres cirugías durante un procedimiento intensivo de 8 horas, y se encuentra en una etapa crítica de recuperación. Los médicos indican que no podrá consumir alimentos sólidos por seis semanas y que necesitará un tiempo prolongado fuera del trabajo. También requerirá cirugías plásticas más adelante, pero confiamos en que Gio enfrentará todo esto con valentía y elegancia.
